International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on 21 st June since its inception in 2015. Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi proposed the idea of International Yoga Day during his speech at the UNGA, on 27th September 2014. He in his speech stated about yoga and its importance in embodying the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. In his UN address, Mr Narendra Modi suggested the date of 21 st June as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the globe. Since then every year International Yoga Day is being celebrated with full enthusiasm in our country as well as around the world.
